Welcome to Sister of Sorrow page of the official IGN Wiki Guide and Walkthrough for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Here, we’ll break down everything you need to know about this main quest in the new Siege of Paris expansion including how to enter the crypt, how to assassinate Little Mother, and how to help Queen Richardis escape.

You’ll receive this quest midway through The Missing Queen. It’ll task you with heading to Aquila. Once there, you’ll learn of the Little Mother — she’s your next assassination target.

How to Enter the Crypt

Once in the assassination area, climb the walls and use Odin’s Sight to reveal three enemies. You need to take each of them out.

We used the bushes inside to take out the one standing in the middle, then shot the one on the ground with an arrow, and then assassinated the bigger brute-like enemy last. That last brute-like enemy was guarding a Crypt Key so be sure to pick it up after defeating them because you’ll need it.

Now you can enter the nearby crypt with the Crypt Key. Do so and head down. Once down there, assassinate the first enemy you see.

How to Assassinate Little Mother

Continue deeper into the crypt until you see a second enemy. Assassinate them and continue forward and talk to the French Woman. She’ll tell you to prepare a sacrificial knife and take it to Little Mother only after it's been dipped in blood. This is your way in to assassinate Little Mother.

Grab the dagger and head deeper into the crypt. You’ll find a giant vat of blood. Dip the dagger into the blood by interacting with the vat.

You’ll unlock an assassination moment upon doing so. It’s time to assassinate Little Mother.

By the vat is the door forward — look at it but don’t go through it yet. Instead, look to the right and you’ll spot a section under the door that you can slip through. In here, you’ll find the key to Little Mother’s sanctum. Now, head through the door which can now be unlocked thanks to the key you’ve just found.

Here’s the most efficient way to assassinate Little Mother and save Queen Richardis:

• Drop down quietly to the floor and use Odin’s Sight to locate the guard with a key.
• Climb back up and free the prisoner in the jail — use Odin’s Sight to locate it if you can’t find it.
• Release the prisoner and the guards will rush up to stop him.
• Drop down and interact with the Deliverance ritual to take part in it secretly — Little Mother will think you’re her assistant as you have the dagger dipped in blood.

• A cutscene will begin — watch the screen because you’ll have to quickly choose the “assassinate” prompt when it appears on screen to quickly and efficiently assassinate Little Mother. Congrats! You’ve saved Queen Richardis!

How to Help Queen Richardis Escape

After this, follow Queen Richardis out of the crypt. However, along the way, you’ll have to clear her path of rats. Attack the rats to make them go away for a second or two — for the first room, you’ll actually need to destroy a wooden wall across the way to reveal a sewer grate for them to go down.

After that, move the stack of cargo onto the top of the sewer grate. This will allow Queen Richardis to pass through the area. Up ahead, the two of you will be trapped in a tunnel. If you have an ability to blow walls up, use it on the wall. Otherwise, return to the rat-infested area, grab a red pot that’s lit with fire, place it in front of the wall, and shoot it with an arrow. This will blow the wall up, revealing the exit for you and Queen Richardis.
