Welcome to The Siege of Paris page of the official IGN Wiki Guide and Walkthrough page for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Here, we’ll break down everything you need to know about this quest in the Siege of Paris expansion including how to light the towers, how to assassinate Gozlin, and more.

This quest begins immediately after the end of Dark Before Dawn. In fact, the latter literally leads directly into the former. Your main objective at the start is to follow Goll. Head forward and defeat the first small wave of enemies. You don’t even necessarily have to fight the enemies here as Goll’s forces will eventually take them out.

ACVW119.jpg

After this, continue forward until a cutscene begins. After this, prepare for a fight. Take the enemies out while trapped in the fire circle and then another cutscene will begin. Count Odo refuses to step into battle and Sigfred orders his troops to fall back as Odo’s forces are slowly thinning the ranks of the Norse.

Your new goal after this cutscene is to light fires on top of specific towers so that the Norse catapults know where to fire. Follow Toka, who will lead the way.

When you reach the first tower, climb up it and press Triangle/Y to light the large brazier. Drop down from the first tower into the halebale below, right in front of the burning building. Parkour through this building to reach the second tower. Climb up it and light the second brazier. After this, a cutscene will begin and you’ll have one new objective — assassinate Bishop Gozlin.

Here are some things to look out for when attempting to assassinate Gozlin:

ACVW122.jpg

  • When you first jump down to the area where Gozlin is located, look for a piece of paper to read. You’ll discover that there's a Pantomime in the church bell tower who might know where Gozlin is located.

The bell tower is across the way. We simply killed all of the enemies down below, but you can of course sneak your way over to the bell tower if you’d like. Inside the tower, look for the ladder. This takes you up to the pantomime.

Free them and then talk to them to obtain the Church Key.

Now, break down behind the pantomime and head outside. You’ll see a small teal diamond — that’s where we’re headed. Jump across the statues to reach the other side.

ACVW124.jpg

In the church, you’ll see a large gold cross hung on the wall. This unlocks an Assassination Moment — you need to dislodge the cross so that it falls on Gozlin and kills him.

To do that, head to the wall the cross is hung on and look behind it – you’ll spot a red pot.

ACVW125.jpg

Shoot it and it will explode. This causes the cross to fall and Gozlin will be killed.

ACVW127.jpg

A cutscene will begin after this assassination. You’ll learn here that Sigfred has a bloodlust, something Toka is worried about. Eivor believes if she can get to Odo before Sigfred, she can convince him to surrender and end Sigfred’s bloodlust.

ACVW128.jpg

It’s time to confront Count Odo — you can find Nolwenn the Smuggler who knows a way into the Palais, or explore to find other opportunities. “Other opportunities” essentially boils down to sneaking in, but since Nolwenn is our friend now, we figured why not use her services.

This concludes The Siege of Paris. To continue this walkthrough, head to The Count of Paris page.
