Since her first appearance in Season 4 of the show, Stella has climbed the ranks as a ferociously dedicated firefighter, loving partner to Severide (Taylor Kinney), and great friend to all members of Firehouse 51. Chi-Hards love Stella, so when her character left Chicago at the beginning of Season 10, many Chicago Fire fans were left scrambling in confusion. The biggest question left in the air was, "Is Stella leaving Chicago Fire?"
How to Watch
Watch Chicago Fire Wednesdays at 9/8c on NBC and next day on Peacock.
Of course, that question was answered when Stella started appearing as normal back at Firehouse 51 in the latter half of Season 10. The season ended with Stellaride tying the knot, so the future seems bright for the couple. But let's recap how we got from then to now.
Is Stella leaving Chicago Fire?
That's what fans thought at the top of Season 10, when Stella left Chicago to launch her Girls on Fire program in Boston. Her efforts were a huge success, which caused Stella to extend her temporary leave of absence.
Stella's work with Girls on Fire was largely accomplished off-screen. Much of what we learned about her was from other characters discussing her. But Stella returned, triumphantly, in the mid-season finale of Season 10. By the end of the season, Stella and Severide had officially tied the knot.
What's next for Stella on Chicago Fire?
Now that Stellaride has officially sealed the deal with wedding bells, does this mean Stella is back at Firehouse 51 for good? The last half of Season 10 suggests that Stella won't be leaving any time soon.
To make viewers feel even better, Chicago Fire showrunner Derek Haas told TV Line (per One Chicago Center) about Stella, "Yes, she’s back for good." There is your answer, folks!
Chicago Fire Season 11 will return this fall on NBC. Older episodes are available to stream on Peacock.
