Power Star Reacts To Shock Death And Explains Final Words - Digital Spy

Note: This article contains spoilers for Power season 6 episode 5 'King's Gambit'.

Power has seen another major dramatic character death, as the show's final season continues.

The most recent episode, titled 'King's Gambit', saw Joe Proctor – played by Jerry Ferrara – shot and killed by Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora).

Tommy put an end to Proctor after he found out that Proctor, wanting to protect his daughter Elisa Marie (Mattea Conforti), revealed to Saxe (Shane Johnson) that Tommy was the one who killed Angela Valdes.

But before Proctor died, he delivered a warning...

Ferrara admitted that he was emotional when creator Courtney A Kemp told him in her office that Proctor would be dying, even though he didn't expect him to survive as long as he did.

"At the end of season 5, I had a feeling that my head was on the chopping block, and I got the finale script and I was like, 'Holy shit, I survived'," he told Entertainment Weekly.

"And then I started to see season 6 shake out and how hot things were getting for Proctor, and Courtney alluded to the fact that I might not survive this season, but she never said when.

"My whole thought had been, 'When it comes for me, I'm going to take it like a soldier. I'm not going to show that I'm upset'. And I got upset in the room!

"I was like, 'Aw man, why now? It couldn't be three more episodes?' But I'm sure those are tough conversations for her."

With his final words, Proctor told Tommy that "this isn't f**king over".

One possible interpretation of the line is that Proctor was referring to a locket he gave Elisa Marie which holds a chip.

"His last words... can mean a lot of different things as everybody will find out down the road, but I thought that was a very Proctor thing to say as his last words," Ferrara said.

"All I'll say to the future is, there's a lot of loose ends and Proctor was a very smart guy and Proctor was a very loved guy. And Proctor was not a white collar lawyer who goes in and just wants to do his job. He got his hands way too dirty.

"At the time, it certainly felt like there's going to be something coming. It's not f**king over."

Power airs on Sundays at 9pm on Starz in the US and on Netflix in the UK.
