i am trying to find out how to underline a word etc in a IMessage or text message in iOS 11. Please help !

iPad 2 Wi-Fi, iOS 7.1

You can't, but it has nothing to do with iOS 11 - you have never been able to underline a word in Messages. You can use email to do that, but not Messages.

Well, since URL links are underlined in messages, it might make it rather difficult to have those stand out if underlining could be used elsewhere in the message.

I know it’s available in mail and notes, but I was sure I had seen an underlined word in a message on a friend’s iPhone.

I must be wrong and thank you for your help.

We SHOULD be able to by now anyway. Lol
