I think it's Owl tbh, I mean you fight him at the exact same spot as her in some ending, plus, the blade the stabs you kinda looks like his. 29 Mar, 2019 @ 12:50pm Owl due to the fact he has that massive Odachi which a giant like him wields like a normal katana, also he can instant dash with almost no sound. You got impaled with no sound by a massive sword and also the fact that Owl tries that trick later in the game Last edited by Gerbilios; 29 Mar, 2019 @ 12:50pm #4

29 Mar, 2019 @ 1:10pm It looks like Genichiro's sword, the ripple pattern along the blade and how straight it is.Owl uses a big, plain sword, right? Almost like a Murakumo or Odachi.I don't know. What you need is that Dark Souls mod that changes everyones swords into various Dark Souls weapons etc (I think it even changes Wolf's sword into the Moonlight Greatsword, looks ridiculous) because it also changes cutscene swords. You'd know for sure then. Owl is the primary suspect though, considering how the story plays out...but really, it could be anyone, even Isshin.Maybe some DLC will come along and reveal that it was Tomoe, somehow. Or even Wolf from the future, or even adult Kuro from the future after the Return ending, setting events in motion! Last edited by Greb; 29 Mar, 2019 @ 1:12pm #8

29 Mar, 2019 @ 1:19pm Yeah it's absolutely Owl. There's the obvious reason of that ending of course but also the first boss fight features a specific callback of him trying to do the same thing and being impressed that you saw through it this time. #10

29 Mar, 2019 @ 1:55pm When you find Owl on top of the castle and Sekiro says "I thought you were dead," Owl says the same thing,"after what happened that night" or something to that effect. Would make perfect sense if he were referring to the fact that he thought he had killed Sekiro. #12

29 Mar, 2019 @ 1:57pm Considering what happens in the story, Owl is the prime suspect.Considering the size of the blade used to stab Sekiro, Owl is the prime suspect.Considering the fact that whoever did so was able to sneak up on Sekiro after a battle (so probably has Shinobi training), Owl is the prime suspect.Considering that Kuro is being held by Genichiro at the start of the game though, suddenly Genichiro is suspect as well.My own idea is that Owl essentially did what he could to get Kuro into the hands of the Ashina for his own aims. Why he decided to do so we can't be sure of, but perhaps he thought Kuro would be easier to control and manipulate if he was essentially a captive rather than the young master of his own estate. Trying to kill Sekiro would also fit with that interpretation, if he wanted Kuro to be more vulnerable and perhaps able to be manipulated into giving Owl immortality, and fits with what happened in the story. But who knows. The story in this game I quite enjoy, but it leaves quite a few things open to interpretation.Edit: In summary, 90% chance it was Owl, 10% chance Genichiro or someone else under Genichiro or Owl's command. 29 Mar, 2019 @ 1:59pm Also...Lady Butterfly is obviously there and is your old instructor and obviously working for Owl.So..no it's not Genichiro, he's not even a suspect. #14

29 Mar, 2019 @ 2:00pm The one thing that doesn't make sense is that Owl would have killed Sekiro to get at Kuro without just asking Sekiro to betray him as per the Shinobi code, as he does later in the game. Why kill him and then only try to convince him to betray Kuro afterwards. Or maybe Owl only attempts to convince him after realizing he can't be killed. Or maybe it's just a minor plot hole and it should be ignored. #15 < > Showing 1-15 of 75 comments Per page: 1530 50 Sekiro™: Shadows Die Twice > General Discussions > Topic Details Date Posted: 29 Mar, 2019 @ 12:20pmPosts: 75

Originally posted by kkiri: It was Patches, obviouslyHa!Also it makes sense for Owl considering what happens later. Alternatively I think it might be Genichiro because when we first meet him Genichiro seems to already know who Seikiro is. Last edited by Jin; 29 Mar, 2019 @ 12:37pm #3

Why is that? Last edited by alicerinz; 29 Mar, 2019 @ 1:05pm #6

I just use the black Sekiro outfit right now #9
Originally posted by Ruiqicn:Genichiro knows who Kuro is, and since Wolf is Kuro's bodyguard basically, it's not too far fetched to imagine that he knows who Wolf is. Plus, he couldn't be there because place was under attack by a bunch of thugs and a few ministry goons all under command of Owl. Genichiro belongs to a different clan, and Ashina isn't on good terms with the ministry. #11Originally posted by kkiri: It was Patches, obviouslyHa!Also it makes sense for Owl considering what happens later.
