Notlikeme Just THEORETICAL QUESTION. IM GETTING A 2002 Z06 6SPEED WITH ALOT OF GOODIES (HEADS,CAM,TB,HEADERS,INJECTORS,FULL EXHAUST ECT ECT) IT HAS DYNOED AT 505 HP TO REAR WHEEL. IM GOING TO GO TO TRACK OF COURSE. BUT AM CURIOUS AS TO WHAT TO EXPECT TIME BRACKET?? WITH A DECENT 60 FT OF SAY 1.60'S OR SO . WHAT TIMES SHOULD I EXPECT?? RobZ took my car for a maiden pass three weeks ago. Car makes about 520-530 rwhp. With a very soft 1.71-60', spinning between the 1-2 shift and hitting the limiter with 100' left at the big end (the tuner forgot to reset the limiter...it was at 6500) he still managed a 10.71@127+. We didn't make any additional passes as there was no way to reset the limiter (no computer/software at the track). Rob is pretty confident the car will go 10.2's@134+ (or perhaps even better) with good air and a more agressive 60' (1.4x). We will find out in the fall. In the mean time, I'll be running the 10.5 Corvette Challenge index this spring/summer at E'town.:thumbsup: You'll need tires to get the most out of a 500+ rwhp set-up. Either invest in a full CCW drag package ( 16"ET Streets in back and skinnies up front) which is waht I have (if you are serious about going to the track routinely) or at least get a good set of DR's. 0 Reply #3 · Apr 6, 2009 There is a C6 Z06 here with 518rwhp turning consistant 10.8s with 18inch DRs. #5 · Apr 6, 2009 Well I was taking in acount him using a stock tire setup with drag radials easily in the mid 10's Hooking up on those stockers will not be easy hence the slower speed first given. Hell the ZR-1 is making around 530 RWHP and it musters an 11.2 of course again we are talking stock tires. #6 · Apr 6, 2009 So with some good Drag pak tires maybe mid to high 10's, stock tires 11's. What would be the stickest street tires i could get?? #7 · Apr 6, 2009 With street tires you likely won't get in the 10's but it doesn't hurt trying. With a good drag radial or slick you should have no trouble getting that 10 second pass but it will likely take a few track days. Don't forget it takes alot of seat time to master these cars even if you have drag raced other cars before. A good street tire is a Nitto 555r2. Also a nitto 555r is a drag radial that makes a good street tire. 0 Reply #8 · Apr 6, 2009 It would probably make a good 10.90 bracket car with a drag radial, leaving some in the bank. Or do i have to stick with the 305/35/18 #11 · Apr 7, 2009 The 305's will fit the best and work just as good. You don't need the 335's. I run a 255 drag radial and have cut many, many low 1.4x's.
