Yunza Y Hi guys, I’ve been reading countless forums on where to find the Bluetooth module in my golf 2010. A number of them say under the passenger or drivers seat. I have checked and cannot see them. Some forums have said in the centre console? Can anyone confirm where I can find the Bluetooth module Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk #1 · Oct 4, 2019 Hi guys, I’ve been reading countless forums on where to find the Bluetooth module in my golf 2010. Image #3 · Oct 4, 2019 Hey NefariousGTI, thanks for the reply. I don’t have that under my seat but I know I have Bluetooth cause I am able to make calls and connect to “VW UHV” on my phone. This is under my passenger seat. Weird how similar cars can be different [emoji23] Image Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk #6 · Oct 5, 2019 (Edited) My 2010 2.5l golf came with a premium 7 radio and a 9w2 BT module. I swapped in a 9w7 BT module and a RCD-510. If you can’t find your BT module then it sounds like you have a RNS-315 as stated above Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 0 Reply #4 · Oct 5, 2019 I had thought BT was a "mandatory option" on 2010 Golfs, but I found an old order guide online that showed it was only mandatory on the TDIs. Is your car a TDI or 2.5L? If it is a 2.5L, the car may have the VW Accessory 'Volk-L' system. See instructions here for the recommended installation locations of the Volk-L module. When you pair your phone, does it say "VW UHV" or "VW Phone"? Are you the original owner? Does your car have the original radio? Does your car have the 3 button panel near the overhead lights? #7 · Oct 5, 2019 Thanks for the reply guys, I have a 1.4L TSI comfortline. I don’t think Australia got the 2.5L engines here. When I connect my phone it connects to “VW UHV”. I’m not the original owner however I recently replaced my RCD310 with a RNS510 which is why I’m trying to upgrade the Bluetooth module to unlock the full potential of the RNS510. It also doesn’t have the 3 button panel in the over head lights. I know it has some sort of Bluetooth as I’m able to make phone calls through the car but that’s about it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 0 Reply #5 · Oct 5, 2019 (Edited) If you can't find the Bluetooth module underneath the passenger seat or under the center console. yours is probably built in to the radio. I believe the RNS-315 radio is the one that has the bluetooth built in to the radio unit. #8 · Oct 6, 2019 OK, being that you see "VW UHV" when pairing and your car does not have the 3-button panel, I'm almost 100% certain that you have a Volk-L system. You can see what it looks like here. Look at the instructions linked in my other post to see the recommended installation locations (just flip the image for a RHD cas). The tech probably stuffed it into one of those areas. The Volk-L unit is electronically similar, if not identical, to a 9W2 factory BT module. You should be able to make calls and stream audio. You won't have track control or track info displayed (but this also depends on what version RNS-510 you have). #9 · Oct 6, 2019 Thanks man, after talking with some other people about it. I have definitely got the Volk-L Bluetooth module in my car. The guy I was talking said after he located the Volk-L module in his car, he swapped it for a 9w7 module and it was plug and play (no extra wiring harness or mic needed). Does that sound right to you? (my car would currently have a mic and has a multi function steering wheel already). So I’m hoping as soon as I plug the 9w7 Bluetooth in my car, I get the “PHONE” option in my MFD and everything goes smoothly from there. I definitely currently don’t have music streaming capabilities in my car however that’s what I’m after so I’m hoping I can just plug and play a new 9w7 module for my volk-L Thanks again mate!
