JWL J Had heater core blow which took out cluster. Got used replacement pulled pins and installed cluster and re-adopted cluster and keys. Cluster came from 2002 4motion 2.8L into fwd 2.8L. Can Gateway has an error 01044 - Control Module Incorrectly Coded apparently because it has soft code 00004 when it should have 00007. Have tried to change this with coding but number refuses to change. Tried to login to bus gateway and it doesn't accept either pin the vehicle pin which now the adopted cluster accepts or the pin from donor car. measuring block 125 which should have a 1 in all four spaces shows 1 in the first two, 125,3 for abs is blank, and 125,4 has N/A for cluster. Assume if I can change soft code it will fix measuring block 125? Or do I need to change that as well as soft code number. And if so how. No other significant errors other than radio which works fine. the quick question can i ignore the Can Gateway being incorrectly coded and the measuring block in 125,3 and 125,4 showing not abs and n/a for instrument cluster since it won't take the recoded number and says login is incorrect. The engine and transmission ecus are the original ones for the car. The transmission and abs I checked and they were correctly coded. The engine ecu didn't give any errors so I assumed it was correct. The gateway coding was incorrect in both the soft code which I couldn't change and the block 125 third and 4th position which 3rd codes for abs and 4th for cluster. 3rd was blank and 4th said n/a for cluster. seems to run fine. Ignore? And thank you again for the help in the beginning when I was panicking and thought all was lost. After hours of research and trial and error eventually got a clue, then rented the cable and slowly muddled through. #7 · Jul 14, 2020 How about can-gateway coding 00006? +00001 maybe only polo, fabia etc autotransmission.
