D-n-Tyke2 D So I am trying to install a RCD330+ into out 2007 Jetta. After initially installing the radio I was able to turn it on without the key in the ignition. Its my understanding that this is a good sign that I will have the battery drain problem so I ordered up a new CAN-Bus gateway, currently have a Rev H gateway. New (used) gateway arrived and its a Rev AH. Swapped it into the car, using a Vacom VCDS I coded the new gateway to match the original gateway and when I hit okay it asked me for the code number and asked if I wanted to use the standard one in the VCDS system (it was something like 12345). As soon as I hit ok everything went sideways. Now I have no communication with the Gateway and can't do anything with the Vagcom. Messed around with it for about half an hour trying to reestablish communication with it with no luck. I ended up putting the original gateway back in and everything went back to how it was before I tried changing it out. So now I am stuck with how to move forward with this. I put the original radio back in so it would drain the battery. So what I need to know is how can I initialize the new CAN-Bus gateway so that I can try and code it again. How can reestablish communication with the new gateway? Any help would be greatly appreciated. #1 · Jun 8, 2019 So I am trying to install a RCD330+ into out 2007 Jetta. Software downloaded from their site. #4 · Jun 8, 2019 Did you use the installation list or long coding? Image Image Image Looks like it was asking for a workshop code #5 · Jun 9, 2019 I used the installation list. It was after I selected "Save Coding" when it popped up a dialog box asking for the code. The dialog box had 3 choices if I remember right: 1. Okay to accept VCDS standard code 2. Cancel to keep code already installed in gateway 3. Esc to enter a new code Or something along those lines. It was after I selected okay that it lost communication with the gateway. #6 · Jun 10, 2019 I am not seeing that issue, I just save coding or do it and it gets accepted. Seeing that you are the original purchaser of this HEXv2 I would go over to the RT forum and get "Verified" and ask Uwe, Jack, Dr Peter etc. #7 · Jun 10, 2019 Yeah, that is why I am confused on this. What you are seeing is what I was expecting. But for some reason with this "new" gateway, putting in the standard VCDS code bricked it. Sounds like a good next step. Insert Quotes Post Reply
