Quote from: Spittin Blood on February 08, 2010, 06:21:45 PMHiIm in to look out for a Loud High power speaker. With a warm but punchy tone.A friend spoke of the G12h-100 .Does anyone have any experience with these speakers ?I've heard a couple, and I liked them. I want to try one in my combo one day

Quote from: Spittin Blood on February 08, 2010, 07:00:03 PMI have read some pretty mixed reviews on the Lorantz speakers. Not many to be found in Sydney to tryI want them to be good . But im concerned they might end up being duds !G'day Spittin'I don't blame you feelin' hesitant ... I hate buying & trying speakers! Very costly excersise ....I've got a quad of the 100 watt Lorantz Keyboard/Bass speakers - they work very well with high gain, and sounded pretty bloody good with a variety of classic-ish amps (A plexi and and 800 .... oh and my X88R with the Sherlock 100/100 .... and Gruffy's ADA with his 100/100.)I wouldn't suggest they exude a particular or typical character on the sound ..... but they do what they should and don't colour the sound at all. Not muddy either - solid in the low-mids and plenty of sparkle. For my purposes, they also handle the low frequencies of de-tuned guitar really well also. That was why I gave 'em a shot - they don't break up too quickly.I bought mine over a period of time so I didn't feel the financial pinch so much - it was a bit of an experiment in all honesty and so far I'm quite happy. Not sure of the relative efficiency rating, though ... Anyway .... just a few thoughts to muddy the waters ! Good luck ...
