I've tried researching this as well, you'll get little to no info and most of it is hearsay.

I just did this. Hopefully, they'll be able to provide some info and specs. When I receive an answer, I'll post it here.

Are you asking about the old H100s or the new ones?

The new ones are made for randall, the older ones people have said were just higher wattage h30s and that they're the ancestor of the k100s.

Id like to try them out personally.

They are definitely different from the G12H30's. They have a large dustcap and (maybe because of that) they don't have that annoying presence sizzle that the 30's have.

Giga.

I recently picked up a real clean G12H-100 off Ebay for $50.It's probably going into my Bedrock 600 Series combo,or maybe in to a widebody 1-12 cab.I really dig the G12K-100 in my Trutone cab,so I thought that I've give the H-100 a shot.I believe that the major difference between the two is that the magnet assembly was moved closer to the voice coil on the newer K-100,supposedly to tighten and help better control the speaker's bass response.

How do you think it would sound in an open back 1x12 combo?

Well,I have it's stepchild, the G12K-100 in my Bedrock 651 [50 watts/4 x EL84] and it sounds quite full and articulate.Compared to the amp with it's stock speaker, the cleans have more punch and clarity, and the overdrive tones give up a somewhat smoother version of that classic Celestion sizzle and crunch.Btw,what amp are you thinking about for a G12H-100?

Oh,I would guess that the G12H-100 or G12K-100 would work quite well in that combo. Both speakers give up a large soundstage [especially for a single 12" speaker] and sound great for clean,semi-breakup,crunch and high gain applications. Both are more mid neutral than the stock Vintage 30 and give up a fuller bottom end and smoother highs...at least to my ears.

I've had an equally hard time finding information about the G12T-100's that came in a 4x12 cabinet I bought a while back. They sound good, though!

I have heard this also. The G12K-100's are one of my favorite speakers to date FWIW. Bob

I have a marshall straight cab with g12h-100's from the late 80's in it. Its a great sounding cab. The distortion tones are round and full (not dull) and the clean tones are awesome. Great all round cab! Kinda makes my orange 4x12 with v30's sound lifeless. I would describe the h100's to be all the good of gt75's and none of the bad (no buzzy tops and not honky sounding)

From what i could gather the g12h-100 is the old version of the k100 and the h100 has a tad less low end. I did not know there were new and old versions of the h100 fwiw.

One of my favorite speakers. Currently have one paired with a V30 in a 2x12 cab and those two balance each other nicely. I used to have a Yamaha DG 1x12 combo that had a G12H-100 in it and it sounded great in that. I find the speaker is best with amps that have a midrange emphasis because the speaker itself is flatter in the mids than a V30 for example.
