I'm going for a greenback type sound, but I need something with more power. I'll be running this cabinet to a Phaez Sibly EL34 50 watt head Which speaker should I get?MissoulaGriz

Lot's of folks loading both into 2X12's these days. Do you need to stand out in a mix, in a live situation? If so, the M65's may be a little soft to grab a sonic footprint if you are playing with a second guitarist. I think you'd stand out in the mix more with the H75's. I'm sure there are guys here who will have more technical details about each speaker that will help you out more as well. I've got an 18watt Phaez SIBLY and I'm digging with with my 2X12 and Veteran 30's. Great amps.jimmer_5

Click to expand...This is the video that gets posted whenever anyone asks which Creamback to get. Listen to it with good headphones or through a decent stereo so you can hear them properly. In full disclosure, based on this video, I bought the H75's and I don't care for them. Popular opinion tends to be to go with the M65, and I think that probably would have been the right decision for me as well. The overall opinion seems to be that the H75 has more presence, and the M65 has more bass response. If I had to do it again, I would go with the M65. Right now, I am happy with my Vintage 30's, so I haven't explored it further. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=du5sn1wtZWA[/ame]

Looks like im going with the M65's

If you'd rather change the cab to 8ohms, you need to get 2 16ohm speakers and wire them in parallel.

When you mix them you are taking into account both speakers and eq-ing appropriately. I run the lower power version- a EVHG12M20 and a H30 70th.But if you are going to use one or the other, they have to be eq'ed differently to sound their best. My EQ settings are totally different when I run two G12ms, 2 G12Hs, or the Mix. Aac/dcfan87

Joined Jan 14, 2010 Messages 1,720 Reaction score 1,436 It's hard to beat the M/H combo. I have tried 2 x G12M, G12H75/G12H55, G12H75/V30, G12H55/V30, 2 x V30, and I always come back to the G12M/G12H combo. In a 2 x 12 configuration I don't think the M/H combo can be beat for classic rock. The G12H75/V30 combo is excellent as well for a slightly more modern sound. Aac/dcfan87

I have a Vox Night Train V112NT-G2 Extension Cabinet with a G12M Greenbacks and those two sound really great together. Not sure if the GB can handle the power you want to throw at it... but its another sweet combination to consider if it can.LPV

It's over, Click to expand...Have to say the opposite from this, and I'm only commenting about it cause I have one of each in my 212 Avatar. The 3 db difference between the 65 and the 75 Creamback is actually very noticeable to me in a home setting to be honest. So noticeable that I will be changing out one of them so they both match. My other 212's have Greenbacks and those cabs sound so full and even compared to my Creamback cab. The Creamback cab seem very directional and very different sounding depending on which speaker you are infront of, I don't like it at all but to each their own.. Now to decide which Creamback to keep and which to get rid off!!?? Is there a consensus that the 65 is the closest sounding to the amazing Greenback?
