Emergency Medicine Volunteer Programs | NYU Langone Health
Có thể bạn quan tâm
The Ronald O. Perelman Department of Emergency Medicine is proud to offer longstanding volunteer programs to undergraduates, recent graduates (within one to two years of graduation date and program start date), post-baccalaureates, and master’s students who are interested in a career in emergency medicine or other areas of medicine.
Our department hosts clinical and research programs that take place either during the academic year or during the summer. Students from all colleges and universities are welcome to apply.
Below, you can find information regarding each program. Please note, absolutely all ancillary and supplemental aspects and components of all volunteer programs are subject to change prior to, up until, and even during the programs due to many outstanding factors. While we try our best to produce our volunteer programs as advertised, emergency medicine and healthcare are dynamic and we are required to pivot, although rarely. We can, however, always guarantee emergency medicine rotations.
Please enjoy our brief video on a day-in-the-life of an emergency department volunteer to learn about emergency medicine volunteering!

Application Requirements
We invite applications from mature, committed, and motivated students who fully accept the demands of the program and are willing to participate enthusiastically in all aspects. We encourage applications from students with a strong interest in healthcare (such as aspiring doctors, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, clinical psychologists, and psychiatrists, and clinical social workers), as well as students who are uncertain about pursuing a career in healthcare. Students who have completed at least one year of undergraduate studies are eligible to apply to our summer programs (for example, freshmen can apply as they will be rising sophomores at the start of our summer programs). All students can apply to our academic year programs (including freshmen).

Housing, Compensation, and Scholarships
For summer 2024, NYU housing was $478 per week for program participants. Housing costs are variable, summer-to-summer, and are set by New York University. For 2025 Housing rates, please check back. Housing is provided for a maximum of 8, 9, or 10 weeks, depending on the program. Learn more about NYU summer housing.
Please note that you are not required to utilize NYU housing and you may commute and/or apply to other housing options at various nearby universities and colleges.
Unfortunately, we are currently unable to provide any stipends or travel reimbursement. We strongly encourage you to research possible grants, funding, and scholarships at your university or college. If your institution offers credit or a stipend for your participation, we are happy to provide any paperwork you may require. Applicability is decided on a case by case basis.
In an effort to promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and health equity, the Project Healthcare Summer Volunteer Program in collaboration with The Bellevue Association has a limited number of scholarships available to volunteers. Black/African American, Latinx, and Indigenous individuals are encouraged to apply. Program admission and scholarship decisions are based on a holistic review of applicants.
