Volunteer for research

Many people with epilepsy have difficulty obtaining and maintaining gainful employment. This study seeks to understand real and perceived barriers to full workplace participation.

Eligibility: Adult 18 years or older with a diagnosis of epilepsy.

Participants will complete a 10 to 15 minute online survey. There are no follow up visits. The information obtained may help patients, their caregivers, physicians and policymakers to understand barriers to workplace participation.

Memory Testing

Are you interested in participating in laptop-based memory tasks? If you are healthy, do not take any medications, and between the ages of 18-60, you may be eligible for participation.

Payment of $20/hour for completion of the study. Study participation will be at the NYU Sleep Center, 724 2nd Ave (at 39th Street), New York NY. Some study participants may be eligible to participate virtually.

Research Interns

Are you interested in becoming a research associate in our laboratory? If you are an undergraduate student attending school in NYC, we encourage you to apply through the NYU BRAIN program, which offers excellent didactic training on clinical and basic neuroscience research and pairs students with NYU labs. BRAIN offers a stipend and is a full time summer and part time school year commitment. If you are an NYU student, you may be eligible for NYU’s Federal Work-Study Program. Unfortunately, we do not accept high school students. We only undergraduates who cannot commit at least 2 years to the lab. This is because we invest a significant amount of time in your training and want you to get the most out of your training! That being said, students tend to stay for longer than 2 years - some stay for 4 years or longer!
