I found quite a few threads about how Hyundai and Kia had copies of the 4G63 and 4G64 but with Evo heads. I have a few questions about that: 1. What is the combustion chamber volume of the G4JS? Some say 44cc, others 56cc. It's not a small difference. 2. I just found a thread saying that the Sonata and Santa Fe heads are different, is that really true? How are they different? Is it a big difference or not? 3. What parts are needed to put the head on a SOHC 16v 4G63? P. S. I am new here, sorry if this is the wrong category P.S.2 Yeah, it's not quite an Evo question, but this forum seems to have the largest knowledge of the G4JS Reply Like Cakewithbolts View Public Profile Find More Posts by Cakewithbolts View iTrader Profile Old Jun 27, 2020 | 10:05 AM #2 Cakewithbolts's Avatar Cakewithbolts Thread Starter Newbie Joined: Jun 2020 Posts: 3 Likes: 0 From: Sofia Anybody? What I can tell you is that it bolts straight on to the evo 8 4g63 or a 4g64 using factory evo 8 cams and cam gears. You will need a G4JS valve cover, gasket, and water neck to make it work. The cylinder volume is actually larger than that of the 4g63 cylinder head. You will need to provide turbo oil feed from the OFH. SOHC 16v piston G4JP piston - G4JS' small brother(2.0), same head and all I think that if I were to put the G4JS head on the SOHC 16v, the pistons are gonna hit the valves. Now, you might say that it's been done on 4G64s, but those have a lower compression height pistons, 4mm lower I think, so I think that's how it works for them. The sohc 16v 4G63 pistons are flush with the deck, the G4JP have a 34,7mm CH(0,3mm lower), G4JS I think 34,6mm. I still have some hope, otherwise we will have to turbo the sohc head, on which I don't know where to get the oil feed from, plus the CR is gonna be higher.
