0 Reply #3 · May 23, 2018 "CHEC" on the dash essentially means, that there's no communication between the ECU and the dash (so in this case switching to dealer mode isn't of much use, because the ECU can't communicate any fault codes to the dash anyway, even if it is online). This is usually due to a failed or unpowered ECU, but in your case the ECU is obviously working, as it's operating your engine, so there must be a problem in the connection between the ECU and the dash. Since it happened with you undoing the ECU connectors, maybe there's grime preventing a proper connection for the lead that goes to the dash. You could perhaps begin by undoing the connectors again, inspect them for rust, dirt, damaged pins or other signs of trouble, cleaning them if necessary and reconnecting them. #4 · May 23, 2018 thanks dpapavas first for your answer iam clean now the ecu pins and looking for cable damage nothing all good but same problem it was write chec on display. and yes my bike is running very well no problem only chec . It would not be a problem, but I do not see any temperature and it is important to me anyone have an idea what it could be? or what else could I test #5 · May 23, 2018 There's a large unsealed connector inside the left front fairing. See the bottom picture on 8-7 of the service manual. Check it. The ECM-to-cluster serial data is on the B/G lead. You might as well also check the connector into the back of the cluster but it's less prone to go bad. Also, were you doing anything that could have damaged that lead? It sounds like the low and high beam as well as the other cluster functions (tachometer & backlight, turn signal indicators, high beam indicator, etc) are OK. Is that right? The unsealed main-to-forward harness connector is a poor design that has been the source of many problems. It was finally replaced by a sealed connector on the K9. P.S. The B/G lead is pin 23 of the ECM's black connector.
