H1/9006 bulbs!? I bought my black headlight housings a while back and really liked them. The light output from the bulbs that came with the housings were better than ANY other bulbs I have bought (I have 3 different pairs of 9006 bulbs all not as good). The weird thing is that it looks like the guy who sold me the housings somehow retrofitted a H1 bulb into a 9006 base so that it could be used in the housing. Take a look?! Anyone ever seen this, or know how you would do it?

The light output is so much better off H1 bulbs than 9006 bulbs. I e-mailed the guy he said that I should be able to just use a H1 non modified bulb in the housing since he modified the housing to accept an H1. Otherwise he said I can buy the modified bulbs from him. I have some (Ebay) H1s on order so we will see. I just thought it was weird and wondered if anyone else was running these bulbs, they are WAY better output than 9006s. most aftermarket housings come with osarms, or wagner bulbs. threre a little better than regular syvainias or phillips. that looked like an hid bulb to me, but i may be lost. good night. Reply mak330 View Public Profile Find all posts by mak330 View iTrader Profile #

Yeah sorry I took them on my phone. Its an HID H1 bulb inside of a 9006 base. I didn't figure it out until I had bought 3 sets of 9006 HID bulbs and they didn't look as good. I have some H1 replacements on the way hopefully they will just go into the modified housing otherwise the guy I got the headlight housings from said $35 a pair for the H1 inside the 9006 base. Seems like kind of a rip off at $35 but I guess we will see if the H1's work. Reply Pure2sin View Public Profile Find all posts by Pure2sin View iTrader Profile #

why don't you just get HID light kit cuz those will work with black head lights. my buddy have the 9006 zzp hid and they fit fine in his black head lights. Last edited by nemesis; 04-26-2010 at

Cause I have ballasts and everything installed and the bypass relay installed. I should take a picture of the housings. The guy actually modified the socket that the HID bulb goes into. In theory from what he says lol it will take either a 9006 HID bulb or a H1 HID bulb. Otherwise I actually have 2 other sets of HID ballasts and bulbs. So far the combo I have on my car with those H1's work the best. PS-- I am going to buy a camera this week. lol Last edited by Pure2sin; 04-26-2010 at
