Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh

Senior Program Specialist, Social Development & Gender, Vietnam

Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh has more than 25 years of experience in development work focused on managing and implementing development projects in the areas of women’s economic empowerment, financial opportunity, and digital literacy. Trained in banking and finance, Ngoc Anh actively contributed to the development of microfinance programs for the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU), particularly in transforming VWU’s microfinance programs into the first licensed microfinance institutions in Vietnam.

In 2008-9 she worked at the Ford Foundation Vietnam, supporting the management of the Ford Foundation’s portfolio in Development Finance and Environment. Prior to joining The Asia Foundation, Ngoc Anh was a deputy chief of party for a USAID-funded project on HIV at the Workplace and led the project’s economic strengthening support for high-risk individuals, also serving as the gender focal point for the project.

Education: Ngoc Anh earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Hanoi Economics University and received her master’s degree in Development Management from Asia Development Institute, Philippines.
