Strongest Energy Drinks Ranked (2022 Edition) – REIZECLUB
If you want to know my answer real quick…
The strongest energy drink, by far, is Spike, which contains 350 mg of caffeine.
Energy drinks taste good, often contain tons and tons of caffeine, and are great at getting you through the after-lunch slump, night shift, early morning, workout, study session, or pretty much anything else that requires some help to accomplish.
If you’re looking for other highly-caffeinated energy drinks, you won’t go wrong with Redline (316mg), and Bang (300mg).
These drinks are guaranteed to give you a strong energy boost for your workouts. But if you want drinks with lower caffeine, you can choose Zipfizz, Alani Nu, and Celsius.
Let’s take a look at the energy drinks with the highest caffeine and I’ll also include a few good options that have less-crazy amounts of caffeine and give you the best bang for your energy drink buck.
Let’s get started!
Table of Contents
Which energy drink is the strongest?
There are various choices for you if you’re looking for an energy drink that contains high amounts of caffeine.
I have ranked them in this section based on caffeine content!
#1 Spike Hardcore Energy
Caffeine: 350mg
Packed with what seems to be an ungodly amount of caffeine at 350 milligrams, it’s pretty certain that this drink will spike your energy levels. Even the most avid stimulant fan will likely be shocked by its caffeine content.
Personally, I’ve yet to try it, but according to Google, it’s currently the only energy drink with that amount of caffeine in it.
#2 Redline Xtreme Energy
Caffeine: 316mg
Redline is an energy drink that mainly markets to bodybuilders. There’s no doubt that Redline contains one of the highest caffeine levels in an energy drink so far.
It definitely packs a powerful punch, weighing in at about 40mg of caffeine per fluid ounce, making it an absolutely perfect pre-workout beverage before you go about lifting every weight in the gym.
But is it actually an energy drink or is it just a pre-workout supplement?
There seems to be an ongoing debate on the question of whether or not Redline is just a pre-workout or an energy drink and people seem torn on how to categorize it.
Nevertheless, Redline Xtreme still ranks 2nd on my list of the strongest energy drinks.
#3 Bang Energy
Caffeine: 300mg
Bang Energy is known mostly for its controversial and bold health claims; some of them being pretty ridiculous and others straight-up hilarious.
Claiming to be the healthiest drink on the market along with being able to cure Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s, and reverse mental retardation due to their newfound compound “Super Creatine.”
Ironically, they faced a number of lawsuits for engaging in false and deceptive advertising.
There is also a fair amount of controversy around the amounts of various ingredients that are included (or perhaps not included) in a can of Bang and whether or not it’s bad for you. I recommend you check out this article if you’re considering buying some soon.
Bang Energy might not rank 1st on our list of the strongest energy drinks but it definitely tops the list for the most controversial energy drink.
For a brief, here’s a quick rundown of what typically goes inside a can of Bang.
Nutritional Values | Bang(16 fl.oz) |
Energy | 0 |

#4 Celsius “Heat” Energy
Caffeine: 300mg
Celsius Energy is known as a fitness drink and for being thermogenic.
Yep, due to their MetaPlus blend, it actually helps to boost your metabolism and increase your body’s ability to torch fat (your body basically becomes a fat-burning furnace).
This is great news for those who are trying very hard to shed some pounds off their body and get that summer beach body.
I can definitely see why it’s a favorite of people trying to shed a few pounds.
But wait, before believing this “miracle of weight loss” it might be worth reading a little more about the Celsius MetaPlus blend and some university studies that basically show that benefits are due to the caffeine content, not anything else special inside the can.
You almost had me there for a moment Celsius.
Check out my Celsius review for more interesting details.
#5 Reign Energy
Caffeine: 300mg
The closest competitor of Bang, Reign also packs 300mg of caffeine in each 16 fl. oz can.
With only 10 calories per can, Reign is marketed to the fitness crowd, much like Bang.
In comparison, Reign contains around five times as much sodium as Bang.
If you’re unsure about which brand to choose, check out my article on Reign Vs Bang where I cover everything you need to know, including all of the differences and similarities between the two.
Check out my Reign review for more details about this delicious drink!
#6 Adrenaline Shoc Energy
Caffeine: 300mg
Sugar-free with a fairly wide selection of flavors, Adrenaline Shoc also contains 300mg of caffeine per standard can.
Adrenaline Shoc boasts the inclusion of some natural ingredients, such as sea salt, but also relies heavily on artificial sweeteners for its taste.
If you want to know if Adrenaline Shoc is suitable for daily use, this article has everything you need to know. Otherwise, here’s my Adrenaline Shoc review article if you’re considering buying some.
#7 Raze Energy Drink
Caffeine: 300mg
Aside from being sugar-free, Raze contains 300mg of caffeine.
Raze boasts the inclusion of the BCAAs L-Leucine, L-Isoleucine, and L-Valine, but unfortunately, there’s no mention on the label of exactly how many of these are included in the ingredients.
You can read more about Raze Energy in my comprehensive article, or check out my Raze review.
#8 G Fuel
Caffeine: 300mg
Perhaps not surprisingly, they’ve gone down the same road as the likes of Bang, Reign, Raze, and Adrenaline Shoc, namely, 300mg of caffeine, no sugar, no calories, and a 16 fl. oz can.
Because why reinvent the wheel, right?
In my opinion, the powder version of G Fuel (further below in this list) has too much caffeine, but G Fuel cans take it to another level with a thumping 300mg in a single can.
Too much for me, but it might work for you.
Check out my comprehensive articles on G Fuel cans and whether they’re bad for you for all the facts.
#9 Cocaine Energy
Caffeine: 280mg
No, it’s not what you think.
Unlike what the name suggests, the Cocaine Energy drink is not linked to the popular party drug cocaine.
However, it does have a caffeine content of 3.5 times more than a can of Red Bull.
Definitely, something to keep an eye on.
#10 NOS Energy
Caffeine: 260mg
Yeah at first glance, you might have thought that it’s the NOS (Nitrous Oxide Systems) that’s frequently featured in the Fast and Furious movies.
This, however, is a different kind of NOS. It’s the first energy drink that I know of to share a name with an automotive product.
In fact, the packaging was once distributed in a design that looked similar to the NOS (Nitrous Oxide Systems) tank. However, that packaging has long been discontinued.
Despite no longer having the cool-looking tank, you can still drink this to fuel your energy needs.
Wondering if you can drink NOS every day? I’ve got you covered in the article I’ve linked to here.
#11 5-hour Energy
Caffeine: 200mg
At first, I thought to myself what a weird name for an energy drink. But, with further research, I came to understand why.
5-hour Energy was the first of its kind (energy shots) and is known throughout the US, and elsewhere in the world. A product designed mainly for the extremely busy – people who don’t even have time to drink a regular 8.4oz can.
That’s pretty busy!
Just one small shot is enough to get you revved up and moving. Conveniently packaged, small and yet potent enough to be a great solution for your energy slump.
It has been widely criticized for its taste, but those who swear by it seem to mostly like the effects.
Check out my review of 5-Hour Energy!
#12 3D Energy
Caffeine: 200mg
Instead of having a variety of flavors, 3D Energy simply has a variety of colors to choose from.
The cans look sleek and with 200mg of caffeine and zero sugar, I have to say that I quite like 3D Energy (you can read my review for all the details).
Like some of the other brands listed above, 3D is mainly marketed to the fitness crowd. In my opinion, some of these strong energy drinks straddle the blurred line between being an energy drink and being a pre-workout.
I’ve covered everything you need to know about whether 3D Energy is actually bad for you or not.
#14 C4 Energy
Caffeine: 200mg
First released in 2018, C4 Energy packs 200mg of caffeine into a 16 fl. oz can.
Sugar-free and with zero calories, C4 is another brand of energy drink that promotes itself as a suitable pre-workout alternative for the fitness crowd.
Featuring a proprietary “Explosive Performance Energy Blend” with an unknown amount of each component ingredient besides the caffeine, C4 keeps some of its key ingredient details close to its chest.
As with other sugar-free energy drinks, C4 makes use of artificial sweeteners to make up for the lack of regular sugar.
If you’d like to learn more about whether C4 is bad for you check out my in-depth C4 review!
#14 Rockstar Energy
Caffeine: 160mg
Rockstar soared to fame in the energy drink industry in the first 6 years after its launch, just like a rockstar!
The 66th most famous beverage, Rockstar is loved by both men and women all over the world.
The tagline,” Party like a Rockstar” was a huge hit among youngsters, especially millennials.
#15 Venom Energy
Caffeine: 160mg
Venom comes with a very cool-looking cobra on the can (although I much prefer an image of venom from Spiderman).
Venom was rebranded and re-launched after a drop in sales and was formally known as Elements Energy.
Created and brewed for the sole purpose of giving you a fast energy kick, just like deadly snake venom.
#16 G Fuel Powdered Energy Drink
Caffeine: 140-150mg
For all the gamers out there, Gfuel provides just the kick for your endless matches in DOTA or the adventures in Skyrim. In fact, G Fuel is the self-proclaimed “official energy drink of eSports”.
G Fuel is definitely sufficient to keep you wide awake and feeling energized, although I personally think that there’s too much caffeine to really think clearly. After I drink Gfuel I feel a bit too wired to really concentrate.
G Fuel is a powder energy drink like Zipfizz, Spark, and REIZE. Mix these brands with water to create an instant energy drink.
G Fuel is now also available in cans. I’ve covered all of the similarities and differences between G Fuel powder and G Fuel cans in this article.
#17 Bing Energy
Caffeine: 120mg
Did anyone say berry-flavored drinks?
Indeed! If you’re a fan of berry-flavored products, Bing Energy could just be for you.
It’s like having the best of both worlds, a solution to your daily energy needs and a delicacy on your tastebuds.
It’s truly the best of both worlds!
A single can contains 40 calories, 9g of sugar and 120mg of caffeine, which I think just makes Bing an average energy drink, but enough to fuel your day.
#18 Advocare Spark
Caffeine: 120mg
Advocare Spark has been criticized as being part of a greater pyramid scheme, but there’s no doubting its popularity.
Designed to deliver energy and enhanced mental focus with over 20 vitamins, minerals and nutrients. It’s sure to be just what you need for a little boost in your energy level.
Take a closer look at the Spark drink ingredients here.
I also wrote a review of Spark too in case you’re interested.
#19 ZipFizz Energy Drink
Caffeine: 100mg
Another energy drink is known for its powders and liquid shot. Zipfizz has long been the choice of energy drink for many Americans, featuring as a staple in many American households.
Check out my Zipfizz review and guide to finding the best deals on Zipfizz.
#20 Red Bull Energy Drink
Caffeine: 80mg
The iconic duo Bull logo that we see everywhere, Red Bull single-handedly created the energy drink category.
Known throughout the world, behind the adventures of every extreme sports event as the drink that “Gives You Wings”.
Founded by an ambitious Austrian man (No, it’s not Arnold Schwarzenegger from The Terminator) whose goal was to save the people of the world from lackluster energy levels by serving them caffeinated drinks that he found in Thailand.
Red Bull got off to a rocky start and was even banned in France for 12 years before things really took off.
Red Bull is still my main go-to energy drink whenever I’m working out or playing a friendly basketball match with friends.
It’s definitely enough to meet all your energy needs.
If you’re interested to know what the difference is between Red Bull and Monster, I recommend that you check out my other article where I cover everything you need to know about exactly how they differ.
#21 Amp Energy
Caffeine: 75mg
The brand behind citrus-flavored energy drinks.
It tastes exactly like your regular can of Mountain Dew. Well no, surprise here, as it’s distributed by Mountain Dew. For all you Mountain Dew fans out there, this could be your go-to solution for your daily energy needs.
Packed with just 75mg of caffeine, Amp Energy definitely gives a smaller punch compared to the likes of Celsius energy, but it still holds its own in my opinion.
#22 REIZE Energy Drink
Caffeine: 50mg
Ahhhh REIZE, my personal favorite.
REIZE is a nifty powder energy drink that comes in a sachet – just add water, soda or a drink of your choice. It’s so easy to use and tastes great.
Despite the lower caffeine content compared to the other energy drinks on this list, it sure gives you the energy boost you need because it contains loads of great vitamins, taurine and ginseng to supplement the caffeine, which delivers a more well-rounded and sustained energy boost.
You can grab some REIZE here.
How much caffeine is actually good for you?
Caffeine tolerance differs from person to person.
It depends a lot on your body size and physiological makeup.
The maximum daily dosage for caffeine is currently set at 400mg per day.
High doses can cause side effects such as caffeine addiction, high blood pressure, and anxiety and can even be lethal.
So, it’s best to choose something with a more sensible amount of caffeine, like my personal favorite REIZE.
REIZE Energy Drink (10 out of 10)
There are tons of good energy drinks out there to choose from to get that energy boost you’re looking for. But, there are a lot of downsides to consuming energy drinks that are high in caffeine.
If you’re looking for something that packs a punch and gives you just what you need (energy-wise) without the devastating side effects, REIZE might be for you.
Low in caffeine, but still rich in Taurine and B vitamins which are great for your overall health.
REIZE ships right to your door for only about $1 per drink, including shipping.
That’s outstanding value for money.
Give REIZE a try today and you might just find that REIZE is the best solution for your daily energy needs.
