Given: Height of a cylinder is $$8\ cm$$ and volume is $$1232\ cm^{3}$$Volume of a cylinder $$=\pi r^{2}h$$ $$1232=\dfrac{22}{7} \times r^2 \times 8$$ $$r^{2}=1232\times \dfrac{7}{8}$$ $$r=7\ cm$$We know, the curved surface area of cylinder $$=2\pi rh$$$$\Rightarrow$$ Curved surface area $$=2\times \dfrac{22}{7} \times 7\times 8$$ $$=252\ cm^{2}$$And, total surface area of cylinder $$=2\pi r(r+h)$$$$\Rightarrow $$ Total surface area $$=2\times \dfrac{22}{7}\times 7(7+8)$$ $$=2580\ cm^{2}$$
