   Hey scooterrati I'm currently riding a BMW c650gt. I love pretty much everything about it, except it needs MOAR power. I was wondering if the TMax is actually faster, despite being down some cubes, power to weight and all that. Thoughts?

   It's not imo. I owned a tmax and have ridden a BMW scooter. The tmax is sportier and handles better, but the BMW has more oomph.

   KLRmichael, maybe post your location in the Tmax thread, and see if anyone will trade bikes for a short ride, then you can see how it compares to yours.

   Basically same as B650 vs. tmax. One's more sporty the other's more touring oriented. Personally I prefer the later, but I don't dislike the TMax. I like the beemer, but haven't bought oner cuz the 650's been cheaper and more available.

   Not quite the same, but google this "burgman 650 cvt URE05 race car project" They built a small race car using the B650 CVT & a GSXer motor.

   If it's power you want then go with the BMW. I used to own a 2009 Tmax and while it was no slouch, the BMW is and feels more powerful. You can definitely tell the difference on the C650GT (in spite of the weight gain over the Tmax). For me the Tmax needed a higher handlebar. The riding position on it meant a bust leaning a little forward with hands being low. The C650GT is a touring machine. The riding position is natural and the reach to the bar is very comfortable. Yamaha will be coming out with a touring version of its Tmax in the next few days. It should become a best seller IMO.
