It sits on top of the brake booster and splits into 2 other lines before it disappears between the booster and fenderwall. the size says 7/32 and the gm-ish identifier is GM6148-M. Anyone know where this goes to? I've looked all over and i can't see anything that's missing a vacuum line. 99 s10 xtreme 4.3 Thanks, flug Sort by Oldest first Oldest first Newest first Most reactions #2 · Feb 20, 2011 Might check your intake manifold near the distributor. #3 · Feb 20, 2011 so there's a vacuum port back there? I know for a fact i didn't connect anything vacuum related to the manifold except the large shaped line on the drivers side. #4 · Feb 20, 2011 since it's so small, I think it's for the air vents inside the dash. look for a nipple by the abs unit on the drivers side fender. they put the vacuum cannister inside the fender now. the older truck like my 97 had a vacuum cannister ball mounted to the hood. the other end of it if not on the motor, should attach to a fitting that is on the intake. which is hard to see but it's under the intake hose. you'll have to remove it to even see the fitting. #5 · Feb 21, 2011 funny you should mention that. I found that this line connects to the intake manifold under the other formed vacuum line on the drivers side. That where my leak was, but when I pulled on the vacuum line to connect it to the manifold, the other end came off. It splits into two different lines like I mentioned above, one goes down about an inch and converts to a hard plastic vacuum line, the other keeps going from that valve, and connects to that nipple on the drivers fender.....what a pita! but it's all working now, no hissing, and best of all since this WAS the spider upgrade, NO STUTTERING! Flug #6 · Feb 21, 2011 oh and note, you CANT see that nipple on the fender, you have to feel for it. If you have bigger hands like me, it's quite difficult to get it reconnected. #7 · Sep 28, 2021 I know this post is incredibly old. But thanks to this discussion I know what that pipe is now. Thanks from a 97 s 10 owner. #8 · Sep 28, 2021 Acknowledging that it's an old thread should give you a heads up that it's dead and should not be bumped.
