We have a maxi cosy pebble and was just wondering when to remove the insert. I've checked their website and there is no guideline. My little one is 12 weeks old and weighs 12 lb now. She still seems comfy, but just wondering when and if people have removed theirs yet?Original poster's comments (1)go to original poster's comments pageno reactions0comment Advertisement | page continues below

  • kKatielou109 Posted 27-07-14I have removed mine because DS legs we're starting to hang over the edge of the seat. Plus he hated his car seat now loves it because he's sat more upright x
  • member avatarMarti84 Posted 27-07-14I did already about 1 week ago. My lg is almost 13 weeks, she has more space and look more comfy now x
  • member avatarVictoria8414 Posted 27-07-14Think it's when they can support their head.I might remove mine and see how it goes.XAdvertisement | page continues below
  • member avatarGreenHorn Posted 27-07-14Yep. My babe hated her carseat. I took out insert a couple weeks ago. Now she doesn't mind car trips. Shes 10 wks and 5kg
  • pPdaddyBee Posted 27-07-14Have a look on the insert to see if there's a label telling you. Mine one has a label saying 6kg. Maxi cosi runs smaller though I think x

Does it have a removable wedge in it, I have the maxi cosi cabirofix and will take out the foam wedge that lies underneath their back in the next week or so but keep in the newborn head support a bit longer.

  • member avatarWrongsideofthirty Posted 27-07-14I took ours out a couple of weeks ago as Jack has a big head and it would squash his face and he'd look so uncomfortable. He's over a stone and can support his head.
  • mMrsScarlett Posted 27-07-14I took the wedge out but left the head support in. My lb is 14lb 12oz and support his head but he looks more comfy with the head part in especially when he falls asleep. Defininatly sits more upright and more space without wedge x
  • ss9sarahd Original PosterPosted 27-07-14Thanks guys, think I'm going to take the wedge out today and see how's she goes. She's no issues with the car seat but is just starting to look a bit scrunched up. Plus she loves sitting upright anyway x
  • ffifimp Posted 27-07-14I was curious, found this in the FAQs for the cabriofix. From what age can the support pillow be removed from the Maxi-Cosi car seat?AnswerThe support pillow provides your child with added comfort right after birth. There is no specific age at which the support pillow should be removed from the Maxi-Cosi car seat. This depends on the size of your child. Once you notice that your child is no longer lying comfortably because his or her head is lying on the ‘roll’, you can remove the support pillow from the Maxi-Cosi car seat.
