My little guy is 12 weeks—does it look like he can go without it?
UPDATE: I found the information I needed.

Usually there’s a weight limit with those newborn inserts. For my car seat, the limit was 11 lbs. Check your manual to see if they have similar guidelines? LikeShow 3 Previous CommentsViolation ReportedReport as Inappropriategglass1713@akerrera09,
the car seat should tell you on the inside wear the insert goes or on the outside thats how mine is but we took it out or bbys 15 lbs LikeViolation ReportedReport as Inappropriateaakerrera09@BabyRPMom,
I found the information on the back of the insert—thank you though! LikeViolation ReportedReport as InappropriateBBabyRPMom@akerrera09,
I have a Chicco Keyfit and it may be on the sides of the carseat. Mine says once baby is 11 lbs it can be removed. LikeViolation ReportedReport as Inappropriateaakerrera09@kaitlizcolby,
I checked the manual—it doesn’t mention anything about weight. It just says some infants need the extra support and to use it properly. It’s a Graco snugride 35 if that matters. LikeViolation ReportedReport as Inappropriate

It looks like he may still need it. hes small and he needs that support for his head. when you get home take out the insert and put him in and see if his head still droops down , if so then yes . LikeViolation ReportedReport as Inappropriate

I would take it out. I have two different style Baby Trend infant carriers and had to remove the inserts in both. One was just too small, the other was causing the harness to become so tight that I didn't have enough slack to get it properly adjusted. My little guy is 13 lbs. LikeViolation ReportedReport as Inappropriatezleopard
My insert is up to 11 pounds LikeViolation ReportedReport as Inappropriatennursenic21
He’s a little peanut, I’d leave it in. The straps don’t look tight on him at all, he looks comfy and protected! I have the Uppa Baby Mesa and I was actually debating returning it because my 11 week old 10 pounder just seemed soo uncomfortable in the seat, until my husband read the infant insert comes out 8+ pounds. If it doesn’t give a weight requirement, I’d wait until the straps don’t fit him comfortably! He looks perfect for now! LikeViolation ReportedReport as Inappropriate

Mine said 4-11 lbs♀️ LikeViolation ReportedReport as Inappropriateaakerrera09@kahri11,
Do you have the same one? I read the manual cover to cover and couldn’t find anything. LikeViolation ReportedReport as Inappropriate
kahri11@akerrera09,

he looks super cozy to me. but hes right at the point of outgrowing it I think. you'll know the time to take it out because his head wont be centered in the pillow anymore, more like too high above it. hes super cute btw! awe LikeViolation ReportedReport as Inappropriateaakerrera09@masterChef3,
He’s actually taller than it. I noticed he was taller than it around 5/6 weeks. I’ve been pulling it up when I put him in the seat. He had terrible head control until recently—it’s not as great as it should be but it’s getting better.

We have a grace snug ride as well. On the actual insert there is a yellow box that says it can only be used with the bottom two strap positions. Ours is a little older though, so it may be different. But I would look on the actual insert LikeViolation ReportedReport as Inappropriateaakerrera09@lwood90,
I found it! Thank you! LikeViolation ReportedReport as Inappropriatettjcl91@lwood90,
ya mine says just to use on the bottom two holes for straps I figured it stays in until she’s up to the third or has great head support. I didn’t know there were weight limits LikeViolation ReportedReport as Inappropriate

Always check your manual.
You’re only supposed to use the insert with the bottom two slots. Once he outgrows those then remove it.

I checked the manual first. It was not anywhere in it...that’s why I asked AFTER checking the manual. @lwood90 and @RNzette told me where to find it and I found it.
