My head insert for the car seat came with the car seat, just curious when everyone is going to remove their’s. It looks like my little one is almost ready to not have it, but she does not have great head support so I did not want to take it out just yet Like Reply 15 CommentsNewest FirstOldest FirstViolation ReportedReport as Inappropriateggmkoons
I'm wondering this too!!! LikeViolation ReportedReport as Inappropriatejjmod
Ours is more than just a head insert, but the manual is quite clear as to when to remove it. On our Maxi-Cosi it says remove when Baby is 61+ cm. LikeViolation ReportedReport as Inappropriate

We have the chicco key fit 30 and the manual said it’s for 4lbs-11lbs, my Lo is waaay over 11lbs so we took it out. He’s a lot more comfy without it LikeViolation ReportedReport as Inappropriatekktelly@ekauf,
That's the body insert. You can leave the head insert in past 11lb LikeViolation ReportedReport as Inappropriateggorskiam
Also have the keyfit 30 - took the insert out about 2 weeks ago. She is much happier without it. LikeViolation ReportedReport as Inappropriatejjjennavie
Google! The companies website should tell you the weight requirement. I? had to do the same and realized I was several weeks off! Now it’s a BIG difference and has more room ! LikeViolation ReportedReport as InappropriateMMES34
Why is there a weight limit for the HEAD insert? Seems it would be when their head wouldn’t wobble around so much ?
Good thing I asked, I guess ! LikeViolation ReportedReport as Inappropriatekkatelynn2380210
I remove when you need to move the straps up and the insert down fit anymore with them. I think it was around 5 mo for my last baby. Still in for baby at 4 mo LikeViolation ReportedReport as Inappropriatekkatelynn2380210@katelynn2380210,
And I have a key fit 30 Chico LikeViolation ReportedReport as InappropriateAABCThanks for posting, I was wondering this too! Seems like she barely fits in the insert anymore but she doesn’t have great head control yet. LikeViolation ReportedReport as Inappropriate

I had a full body insert in my baby’s car seat but the head insert could detach from the body part. I took the body insert out when she was 2 months due to her coat being thick, that kinda kept her in place. I took the head insert out at 3 months also because of her coat. If it weren’t winter and if she didn’t need a coat, I think I would still be using the insert. LikeViolation ReportedReport as InappropriateKKristinaQ86@tifft419,Not to revive a dead post or be "that" mom... but please please please dont use a coat with car seats! LikeViolation ReportedReport as InappropriateBBoyMum2017The car seat manual will provide instructions. Ours said to remove it when we moved the straps up to position "3" at the shoulder area; we did that two weeks about. But LO is long! Like
