偶然（by 徐志摩）
ǒurán （ by Xú Zhì Mó ）
我是天空里的一片云，
wǒ shì tiānkōng lǐ de yīpiàn yún ，
偶尔投影在你的波心！——
ǒuěr tóu yǐng zài nǐ de bō xīn ！
你不必讶异，
nǐ bùbì yà yì ，
更无须欢喜
gèng wú xū huānxǐ
在转瞬间消灭了踪影。
zài zhuǎn shùnjiān xiāomiè le zōng yǐng 。
你我相逢在黑夜的海上，
nǐ wǒ xiāng féng zài hēiyè de hǎishàng
你有你的，我有我的方向
nǐ yǒu nǐ de， wǒ yǒu wǒde fāngxiàng
你记得也好
nǐ jìde yě hǎo
最好你忘掉
zuìhǎo nǐ wàng diào
在这交会时互放的光亮！
zài zhè jiāo huì shí hù fàng de guāngliàng

English Translation:

“By Chance” by Xu Zhimo (translated by Ling-Ling Shih)
I am a cloud in the sky,
By chance casting a shadow on the ripples of your heart!
Don’t be surprised,
Nor should you be overjoyed.
I will soon vanish without a trace.
You and I met in the dark sea;
You have your direction and I have mine.
Remember if you will,
Better yet if you forget
The spark we exchanged in our encounter.
