City & Guilds 2391-52 Level 3 Award in Initial Verification & Periodic Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations

This course was known as the City & Guilds 2394 and 2395. The course is a combination of the City and Guilds 2391-50 (Initial Verification) and 2391-51 (Periodic Inspection and Testing) training courses and allows candidates to complete the qualification online and only attending a centre for the exam.

This qualification helps you to develop the knowledge and practical skills required to carry out inspection and testing on electrical installations. The course covers appropriate legislation, inspection and testing techniques, completing and issuing certificates or reports and understanding of results and measurements.

The course is available to purchase by itself, or including the final exams. Both for a maximum of 6 months access.​

City & Guilds 2391-52 Course Assessment

Assessment methods for the 2391-52 course include a short written examination, an open book online multi-choice exam consisting of 60 questions, and a practical assessment on a simulated installation and visual inspection.

Current course examination centres (offered by XS Training) are – XS Training Centre (Leeds) – Includes in-house preparation prior to exams, Bristol, Bury St Edmunds, Harlow and Waterlooville (Portsmouth).

Who is the qualification for?

The XS Training Academy Online course is aimed at practising electricians who already have some experience in inspection and testing in a variety of electrical systems.

What does the qualification cover?

This qualification prepares candidates for the initial verification and periodic inspection of electrical installation work.

How much experience do I need in Inspection and testing as an entry requirement?

This exam process is very difficult. You must have good levels of knowledge of inspection and testing prior to signing up for the course. You must also put into practice the knowledge gained whilst doing the 6-month course. Learners struggle in the practical assessment due to time constraints. The more practice you have at the testing process, alongside the course, the better chance you have of passing it first time.

City & Guilds cannot accept any registrations for learners under 18 as these qualifications are not approved for learners under 18.
