Bear77 B Does anyone know when BMW stopped using the M47 engine and started using the N47 engine in the e90? I note that looking through the classifieds cars prior to 2007 definitely seemed to have the M47 engine and output around 158g/km carbon emissions. All of the 57 plate versions I've seen so far show this dropping to 128g/km - presumably this is still the M47 engine? Sort by Oldest first Oldest first Newest first Most reactions #2 · Apr 27, 2017 Most 57 plates are N57 engined. Look at the exhaust if its turned down its a M47 if straight out its a N57. Ive a July 2007 M sport and its a very late M47. #3 · Apr 27, 2017 Not true for the exhaust, the turned down ones are the ones without the dpf, M47 with dpf also has the exhaust pointing straight. E90 switched to the N47 in 2007, it is also found in pre-lci models. Insert Quotes Post Reply
