Simbhandal22 S Hi guys Im new to this forum, ive just recently brought a golf mo5 2.0l gt tdi and have a slight problem 😢 When turning the car ignition on i hear the fans going off and lights appearing on the dash board starting with the steering light which flashes green amber then red. Then goes onto every other light on the dash and starts making a beeping sound I was told it was the multi control unit ( fuse box ) under the bonnet so that got replaced which did not work Was also plugged into vag com which produced no faults :S!!!! Argggggg I need this fixed asap! Please someone get back to me with something! #1 · Jul 27, 2013 Hi guys Im new to this forum, ive just recently brought a golf mo5 2.0l gt tdi and have a slight problem 😢 When turning the car ignition on i hear the fans going off and lights appearing on the dash board starting with the steering light which flashes green amber then red. Image You need to get your motor scanned for any error codes logged in the ecu and post them. Thread moved to proper section. Can I suggest that you add your car spec to your signature as it will save users asking every time, if you know the engine code that will also be great? Oh you can't do this of a phone. http://www.volkswagenforum.co.uk/f26/adding-your-car-spec-5119.html Options Sticker and Engine Codes #3 · Aug 8, 2013 sounds like you have a earth or battery power issue ,check engine -body earth points ,also get the battery checked .sounds also like the inst control mod is in self test lol or sumt .perhaps resetting to basic ,inc steering angle sensor #4 · Aug 8, 2013 Hi, i have tried taking the inst cluster out checked the wires to see if any were squashed or stuck but they were fine. How do i reset the cluster and steering angle sensor? #5 · Aug 8, 2013 To reset Steering Angle sensor u need VCDS: Preparations: Start the vehicle. Turn the steering wheel one turn to the right and one turn to the left. Drive in a short distance straight line on a level surface at a speed not higher than 20 km/h. If the steering wheel is straight during the test drive then stop the vehicle with the wheels pointed straight. Ensure that the steering wheel is not moved again. Keep the engine running and do not switch off the ignition. System voltage at least 12.0 V. [Select] [03 - Brake Electronics] [Measuring Blocks - 08] Group 004 [Go!] Check field 1, the value has to be between -1.5 and +1.5 °. [Done, Go Back] [Coding-II - 11] OR (if Coding-II is not available) [Security Access - 16] Enter 40168, to enable the basic setting. [Do it!] [Basic Settings - 04] Group 060 [Go!] After a successful basic setting, field 2 should say "OK". [Done, Go Back] [Close Controller, Go Back - 06] But for Cluster Reset u need some different tool and I suggest you not to do it coz u can brick ur cluster (if u dont know what to do). On MK5 Central Electric Control Module CECM is located just over your pedals. Behind the cover. Try to found some loose or damaged cables etc. #6 · Aug 8, 2013 reset of control mobs and recode can be be done with vagcom full version or with snap on solus or higher but they will need to know thier stuff if there is a problem with the unit ,,,it sounds like that modual is not retaining any memory so as soon as you turn off and pull the key its like someone lifted the battery out try a few diferent stops and starts ie switch the engine off but dont remove the key ,leave for ten mins then see if it still happens also look closely at the gauges for a while with key out and all locked up check for very slight twitching i have come across this before and it was just a case of reset and basic settings ,,,,all else fails get someone to check through every system i have seen abs modules play havoc with the clock binicle Insert Quotes Post Reply
