Alan Harrington A Hi all, Alan here new to this. Just have a question for anyone who might be able to shed some light on the problems I'm experiencing. I'm working on an 05 Mk5 Golf. I fixed some panel damage and put a new dash and airbags in. However since putting everything in I cannot get any reaction from the ignition switch. There's a brand new battery in the car currently, radio locking system etc work fine. Below is my latest VCDS scan after clearing all DTCs numerous times. I also put a scan that I got of the Engine a few hours before this. I was able to start the car manually by clicking each relay (1 & 2) under the bonnet. This is the only way I could get the ignition on. All fuses are perfect. The car was literally working perfect a week ago so I'm mystified as to how it suddenly has stopped working. I have contacted dozens of other technicians I know who are also astounded. I reckon after checking the fault codes that my problem lies with the ECM (Electronics Control Module), there is no power coming to the relays in it and it also gets noticeably warm. I also went into 09. Electronics and checked MVB 007 with ignition on and all the relays were still off. I cannot access the Steering - 16. I am going to get an ECM off a similar Golf and Relays also to see if that sorts my problem. Have spent a lot of time scratching my head over this and looking for solutions.
