Can you tell me if there's really much difference and in what way? Revsound

Both are rated at 100 watts, they share the same sensitivity 99db, same, magnet size identical, frequency response is slightly different (which is debatable)The G12H-100 85Hz-6000Hz the G12K-100 80Hz-5500Hz, both weigh the same, same size voice coils. Their response curves are close to identical with no anomalies that would make me think they were any different. I'm very familiar with the G12H-100 and have used them in single 12 configurations of my design since I attended the summer NAMM show with Celestion in New Orleans in 1985. Celestion is sending a G12K-100 for me to test and I'll be doing a side by side with one of my G12H-100s. When asked to describe the G12H-100 my answer remains the same. What you put in, is what you get out. It is unquestionably one of the most transparent drivers I have ever come across. It sounds great with all styles and will keep you honest. If that is not what you want, get some Greenbacks, they'll hide some stuff for you. And, just my opinion, if you like Greenbacks....that's nice:) The G12H-100s response is extremely fast, high end smooth and articulate, low end tight with no dwelling "bloom" and no mid boost like the V30s which I admittedly hate. If you play your guitar unplugged and you like it, you can have it through this driver. It translates pedal perfectly and with it's high sensitivity it's great paired with a low powered amp to make it playable in a club. There is really nothing to not like. I suspect like the original G12H-100 the K will take some break in time and there's no fast way around that no matter what anyone suggests. Please don't spray water or anything else on your cones, it's an unhappy ending. I'll update after I spend time with the K, but I don't expect any negative surprises after comparing the specs and response curves. gldtp99

Much more of a rich, open clean tone------ and also sounds great with heavy amp distortion. I never really liked the many G12T-100's I've had or installed for others----- good thing I got them cheap. I liked the G12T-75's much better than the G12T-100's. And I prefer the G12K-100's to the G12T-75's. 71strat

Theyre OK, but not my favorite speaker. I replaced the G12Ts with 90w Creams, and am also thinking about trying 2 of the new 150w Redbacks in the CT. Humble Texan Fan

For one thing the K and the H are both H magnet speakers and are 1.75" VC. The K100 originates in the K85, the cone of which was later used for the T75. The H100 traces its roots in the G12-80 and the G12-65, which have a less peaky mid hump. The T100 features an M magnet and a 2" VC. Heaven knows which cone was used, the plot looking more akin to the G12-65 than the T75/ K100, contrary to what you'd expect. It has a peak at around 5.5kHz that has a tendency of coming across as quite harsh and biting. The M magnet makes it less reactive yet the 2" VC makes it stiffer and more headroomy relative to its magnet size. Sounds decent for cleans but for dirt even the T75 makes a more interesting option.
