Is it possible to check the service history online, had my car serviced by a independent garage.
The garage said they had updated the service record but I do not know how to check.
Thanks.😕

If you do find it, take it with a pinch of salt. Here’s a screenshot of mine. And there’s another Haldex and brake fluid change listed 3 days after the 06/19 one!!

Yep, I've done exactly that. I have every receipt for every purchase all the way down to the tyres in a folder.

Didn't realise this existed so had a look and mine has loads of "repair" events listed.
It's only ever been in for its annual service, 1 MOT and 1 battery change. According to this there are 3 services, 1 MOT and 4 repair events...

I find that they log things inaccurately. My Haldex service got logged as a repair event. And the warranty water pump/thermostat housing replacement of last Oct/Nov isn’t logged at all on the electronic service. It’s certainly not a completely accurate list!

Yeh it's kind of frustrating as it makes it look like the car has had lots of issues and repair work. In reality the only work its had outside of servicing is a replacement battery.

I agree. That’s why it’s even more important and prudent to keep paper service records so that it can be evidenced exactly what these so-called ‘repair’ events that aren’t repairs were, and where they are repairs, what they were. I’ve very recently sold my mk7 and had to explain to the buyer the inaccuracy of the VW electronic service record, but, in addition to the physical service book, I was able to hand them a file with printouts from every service (even ones where the info was sent by electronic link) which documented it all and shows what’s really what, the true picture. I’m sure many of us on here do that, but I’d advise anyone who doesn’t to keep good records for when the time comes to sell.

Is there anyway to check a car's history? Or does it have to be registered to you?
I am in the market for a 7.5R and wouldnt mind checking the service history (albeit with a pinch of salt after reading the above)

Hello, check-car.eu - VW service history check from official source only (official VW dealership) I also used the free vw portal but it does not contain any information, it rarely contains anything and it is useless. Someone on the audi forum recommended me a site where I found exactly what I was looking for. Full digital vehicle report, contains all data from the dealership. It is the only site where you can find the 100% detailed report, contains all details about the car. What I like is that they have service history from the dealership for any brand. Try it, maybe it will help you
