Radio safe mode?

Radio safe mode?

A friend of mine's radio is in safe mode. How can he get the radio to work? He got the code and its a vw beta tape deck radio from a 2000 golf 4. Robin Current rides: 02' Jetta 4 1.9 Tdi, 99' Isuzu KB 250 Dle(Faithfull aka slowmo) Mercedes Benz ML 270Cdi Ex rides: 82' jetta 1.5 Gls(sold), 88' jetta Clx(sold with tears in my eyes) Rather buy a good quality part that will last then buying a cheap part that won't last. It doesn't want to take the code. If he switch the radio on it says safe. I can press anything but nothing happens. Has he read the manual? According to mine if you entered the code wrong a couple of times you need to leave the unit switched on for more than an hour and it will reset again so you can enter the code again. Yip. If the code was entered wrong more times, it will increase the delay every time up to a maximum of 24 hours. OK what I forgot to mention is that he is using the radio in his workshop. So when he leaves after work he switches the power supply off, so each morning when he switch the power supply on, he enters the code. So somebody else tried to enter the code but entered it wrong. So he must leave the radio on until it ask for the code?
