#1 · Mar 29, 2014 Hey guys, i want to share with you my problem, maybe someone knows whats up.. Here is a quick history, About 2 years ago i bought a vw golf, mk5 1.9 tdi, 2007make ; worked like a charm for over a year then i noticed one thing, i locked the car via fob and left, and when i returned all 4 blinkers were blinking, like i pressed hazards light on dash, when unlocked it stopped. About a month later it happened again, and i desided to test it there, unlocked, it stoped, locked again and waited, about 2-3 mins after locking, it started to blink, all blinkers on car, 2 indicators on dash, even hazard light switch blinked. Take a note i tried all doors while blinking, everything was locked. Now during next weeks it hapened at random, sometimes it locks fine and goes to sleep, sometimes it blinks. somewhere september last year i drove it to shop, to a electrician whole town was praising.. He diagnosed it and said there is a fault with switch for all 4 blinkers, and that it had to be replaced, he also said that we can order brand new switch from dealer and wait about 2-3 weeks or try with a switch from a wrecked mk5 he had in yard( like for free, i would only pay labour). switch replaced, blinking stoped till november, then it started again, now march it still does it from time to time, sometimes blinks, sometimes not, sometimes stays locked for half an hour then starts to blink for 3-4 mins, then stops for a min and so on.. To be honnest im worried it might make some serious damage doing this for so long, Some time ago i was back in that shop guy connected it again and said the fault on switch is back again, Now i highly doubt that a 2 switches can go bad in such short time, specially that i never use that switch at all! I asked him to dissable blinking on lock unlock to test it out, locking on fob, blinkers blink, locking via key in drivers door, one blink like normal, and all goes fine, car goes to sleep, but when i unlock with key, only driver door unlocks, rest i need to start ignition and press driver door button to unlock. When bought scan showed rear right door speaker blown, so it wasnt a big deal, rear dome lights arent working, i though it was buld, but replaced and its still not working, im thinking this might be linked. I though then it might be door harness (thank you myturbodiesel guys for this :) ), pulled the rubbers from doors a bit, all wires were ok. Now im starting to think could it be a faulty comfort module? One of dome lights isnt working, problems with central locking and im unable to pop trunk with fob (latch works manualy), this all points for comfort module for golf mk4 / pasat b5.5, but i never found it could happen on mk5. Any ideas what i should check? Thanks in advance. See less See more Sort by Oldest first Oldest first Newest first Most reactions #2 · Apr 3, 2014 Did you reset the ECU? Just remove the pos battery cable for about 10 minutes (or ground it(make sure battery is disconnected). that may fix your issues. #3 · Apr 3, 2014 Well will try it again tomorrow, but doubt it, had dead battery last year feb car was powerless for couple hours , same thing before and after it.
