#1 · Sep 21, 2011 Hi Guys Locked my car up as usual last night but accidently left the interior lights on. I only noticed because about 10 minutes later my hazards were flashing like the alarm was going off but no noise. Unlocked the car, turned the lights off and locked it, 10 mins later it was doing it again. So this time I unlocked it and started it then turned it off an locked it all up again. It stopped but i am interested into why it did it. It was almost as if the alarm was going off but the siren wasnt sounding. Ive only had the car a week so havent tested the alarm but will be today! Anyone had any experience with similair to this? Thanks Sort by Oldest first Oldest first Newest first Most reactions #2 · Sep 21, 2011 I have yet to come across a scenaro like yours. However, in my experience I know that if you lock the car and hold down the lock button on the remote for a period of about 4 seconds you can get the hazard light to start flashing without the alarm siren going off. Of course, if you hold down the button any longer then you set off the panic attack feature. Could it possibly be that you did the above? #3 · Sep 22, 2011

Not sure this is a feature of the mk5? But I have come across this many times on the mk5/mk6 with the hazards, basically your siren is faulty and you need to get it replaced. The siren is behind the drivers front wing and is riveted in, its a small silver box. Darren #4 · Sep 22, 2011 Thanks Darren Does the wing have to come off for this to be replaced? Also do you if there is any coding involved in setting a new siren up? #5 · Sep 30, 2011 Sorry Chris I dont come on here that often, No the wing doesn't have to come off and no no coding to be done.
